Two well-known Tauranga community support agencies are moving in together, providing more opportunities to work collaboratively.
Counselling and social services agency Family Works, and home and community support services and individualised funding host Enliven will be co-located at 126 Eleventh Ave, Tauranga, from May 12.
Both are part of Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN), a large provider of social services and aged care support.
The move is a positive for the community, says PSN CEO Shaun Greaves.
“For the first time in Tauranga, we will have the two services co-located on a site that has undergone a purpose-built fit-out,” he says.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to deliver much-needed services to people who are really struggling at the moment.”
Family Works services include counselling and social work for children and families, Women Against Violence Education (WAVE), Social Workers in Schools, Parenting Through Separation and the Restore programme.
Greaves says the Family Works move to a new location follows the ending of its long-term lease at the Hillier Centre, Mt Maunganui.
“We saw the need to find new premises as an opportunity to co-locate with our Enliven service, which was previously based on Chadwick Rd.
“Enliven provides Individualised Funding for those with disabilities, day services as well as home-based support services for those living at home, particularly older people.
“It made sense for the two services to be together, which can only be good for the community.”
Greaves says the new facility is easy to find on a main road and is handy to public transport. It also has dedicated client parking, ground floor access and purpose-built counselling rooms for children.
“We’re excited about the fresh start and can’t wait to welcome people to our new home from May 12.”
