International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021
He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata. What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people – it includes all people.
This Friday, 3 December marks the annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This year events move online and there are a couple of interesting FREE live streams to join in with.
The first event Language Matters is a live stream discussion about language and how the way we talk about people can influence whether we see them positively or negatively. Join CCS Disability Action and guests for a discussion on the impact of language on our friends and whānau who are living with disabilities.
When: Friday 3 December at 10am
At midday join Te Pou to celebrate the contributions disabled people and tāngata whaikaha make to our communities. There will be discussion and musical entertainment. You can tune in to the live stream from the Te Pou website by visiting the link below and scrolling down the page until you see the stream.
